We do not sell or share data with other organisations or individuals – nor shall we.

We will also update this policy from time-to-time to the extent that it enhances your privacy..

If you have any queries about data – or would like to see what we have – please email Louisa Whyte on [email protected] or Alasdair Whyte – [email protected] or call us on +441737844383

Information we collect

We need certain information to provide our products and services – such as an email address to receive an email newsletter. Most of this information is readily available from your business card.

To attend a conference we typically need your: name, job title, work email, telephone (work or mobile number), postal address (including postcode) and payment details. We sometimes categorise companies for our own analysis.

When you access our online products we may collect information such as: the type of browser or email product you are using; the device you are reading it on; the pages you have viewed on our website; your IP address and location. However, this information is often anonymous – so we may know which company is accessing a story but not who is reading it. We can also see which links you have clicked on in emails.

If you tell us that you are particularly interested in a certain region or industry we may collect that. We also collect comments and email conversations. Some of these may be stored in our contact-management database.

Information we receive from third parties

We occasionally receive data from other organisations such as sponsors asking us to invite delegates to events. We will always ask individuals to opt-in.

We do not sell or give your details to Third Parties.

How we use your information

We primarily use your information for the purpose of delivering the products and services that you have chosen and to personalise our interactions (including marketing and advertising) provided you have given consent.

Social media

Specialist Insight uses social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. This may include both organic and paid methods that rely on tags.

How we store your data

We store your information securely and hold it for as long as we need to in order provide our services and products to you in accordance with the law.

If you have not interacted with us in any way, we will generally no longer hold your information after 5 years. If it involves payments we may hold it for more than seven years – or longer for tax and legal reasons.

If you ask us to no longer contact you, for example if you do not wish to receive marketing emails, we will retain the minimum amount of information about you so that we can ensure we remove you from any future communications. We can, if you ask, completely remove all information about you, but we will no longer be able to recognise your previous request to not be contacted.

Storing and transferring information internationally

As we use several cloud-based systems your data may be transferred internationally, including outside of the UK and the European Union. By using our products and services you acknowledge and agree to your personal information being transferred in this way, including to jurisdictions outside the EEA.

We maintain strict policies to ensure that all information that is transferred is done so safely and securely.

Keeping your information safe

We take information security seriously. We have always seen this a priority and have policies and procedures in place to ensure the information we hold on you remains safe. We limit who has access to your information and ensure that those who do are contractually bound to keep your information availability restricted and safe. We will notify you should there be a breach.

Individuals under 16

We do not intentionally, or knowingly, process personal information from individuals under the age of 16.

External links

Our websites, emails or products may, and often do, contain links to external sites. We cannot be responsible for their privacy practices so suggest you read their policies.
