VerdeGo Aero attains cybersecurity certification required by DoW
VerdeGo Aero has achieved a perfect score for Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2, required for participation in US Department of War programmes.
VerdeGo is one of the first companies within the electric aviation sector to achieve compliance ahead of the full implementation of CMMC on November 10th, 2025. The firm’s implementation of all 110 NIST SP 800-171 security requirements ensures robust protection of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in support of Department of War (DoW) programmes.
Eric Bartsch, VerdeGo Aero CEO, said: “As the defence market becomes increasingly focused on leveraging hybrid-electric propulsion to achieve the mission capabilities necessary in next-generation electrified aircraft, it is critical for companies like VerdeGo Aero to be qualified to engage directly on these programmes.
Matt Kollar, director of operations, VerdeGo Aero, said: “Achieving CMMC Level 2 certification demonstrates our dedication to cyber resilience, mission assurance, and long-term partnerships with the Department of War and leading aerospace primes. This achievement positions us as a trusted partner in the aerospace industry, reinforcing our mission to deliver innovative solutions while prioritising security and compliance.”
Chris Doyle, manager of IT & Cybersecurity, added: “Our certification is not just a compliance milestone; it’s a culture of cybersecurity woven into every part of our operations. We’ve proven that small teams can meet big-league standards — and thrive alongside the largest names in aviation.”
