Co-founder commutes to work in Jetson eVTOL
Jetson Aero co-founder, Tomasz Patan has completed his daily commute for the first time the in Swedish firm’s Jetson ONE eVTOL aircraft.
According to Jetson, the flight, which took place on May 21, 2022 cut average daily journey time by 88%.
A statement from Jetson read: “We are incredibly proud to share that after months of rigorous trial and testing we completed the World’s first eVTOL commute. A momentous occasion for the emerging EVTOL sector. As pioneers, we are focused on further pushing the envelope during this aviation renaissance.”
The Jetson One aircraft is a coaxial octacopter with room for one pilot, a roll cage and enough batteries for 20 minutes of flight at speeds up to 63 mph (102 km/h).
The One also has some autonomous capabilities. If the pilot lets go of the sticks the eVTOL will hover in place. It will also find somewhere to land if the battery charge is low.
