XTI Aerospace announced significant progress in the development of its fixed-wing, vertical lift crossover TriFan 600 aircraft.

“We continue to advance the development of the TriFan 600, a fixed-wing, vertical lift crossover aircraft uniquely designed to meet the needs of the evolving aviation industry and its customers,” said Scott Pomeroy, CEO of XTI Aerospace.

The company is collaborating with AVX Aircraft Company to expedite the design and certification process, aiming to reduce costs and accelerate the timeline to first flight.

The company, in its second quarter 2024 business update, said that it has secured conditional preorders for 100 TriFan 600 aircraft from Mesa Air Group, representing a potential $1bn in revenue.

“In the second quarter, XTI Aerospace also announced conditional preorders for 100 TriFan 600 aircraft from Mesa Air Group,” said Pomeroy. “Assuming the order is fully exercised, it would represent approximately $1bn in revenue for XTI Aerospace, validating the interest and support we are witnessing in the market.”

XTI Aerospace said that it is also focused on refining the TriFan 600’s design through aerodynamic optimizations and exploring advanced technologies such as fly-by-wire controls and composite materials.

The company has secured a potential $55m equity investment to further accelerate commercialisation.

With a clear roadmap of development milestones, XTI Aerospace is poised to bring the TriFan 600 to market, offering a unique combination of vertical lift capabilities and fixed-wing efficiency.
