Beta Technologies installed electric chargers at 30 new sites in 2024, growing its network by almost 200%, the company has reported.

The electric aircraft and infrastructure developer’s network now includes 46 sites across 22 states – with 23 more sites in development for public and private use across the east, west and gulf coasts of the US.

The Beta-designed chargers, such as the one pictured above, are multimodal and interoperable, with land and airside connections capable of powering electric aircraft and ground vehicles. The chargers also use the Combined Charging Standard (CCS), which has been endorsed by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association.

Nate Ward, Beta’s Charge Network Lead said: “As we electric aviation gets closer and closer to commercial operations, it becomes all the more critical that we have a robust and reliable charging network in place to support this emerging industry.”

Beta customers for chargers include Archer Aviation, Signature Aviation and Atlantic Aviation, as well as the State of Michigan, regional and municipal airports and US government agencies.

“From the outset, we had this idea of creating chargers that could support the entire industry, and over the course of the past year, we’ve seen that idea really begin to find traction,” added Ward. “It’s been great to work with partners from across aviation to prepare for the collective future of electric aviation, and we look forward to continuing to ramp up our efforts in 2025.”

In 2025, Beta plans to continue bringing additional chargers online through across the US. It also has plans to expand infrastructure development efforts outside the US this year to multiple international markets.
