Better Futures launches second-generation AI assistant platform for engineers
Dublin-based software firm Better Futures has launched Engineering Verified Assistants (EVA) 2.0, its second-generation AI assistant platform for engineers.
The new release focused primarily on systems engineering and certification, one of the most document intensive roles in industry. It offers features including software-powered navigation of regulation, auto-generation of documents such as test plans and advanced requirements and traceability checking.
“It feels like we’re turning the page,” said Anthony Mc Loughlin, CEO and founder, Better Futures. “Now we’ve got the platform in place that we can really empower others to deliver EVAs and grow our library in the process. We’re starting to grow the team, focusing on building out the platform further.”
Founded just over two years ago, EVA 2.0 marks Better Futures’ emergence from stealth mode. Mc Loughlin said the decision was taken to due to the limitations of the first-generation platform.
“We were able to deploy and deliver use cases one by one: assistance to automate a certain report or certain checks to accelerate certification. That was working well, but we really needed to rebuild for scale, to a platform,” he explained.
“That’s the decision we took about four or five months ago. Now, there’s still a lot more to do, this is just one step. We want to get to the huge roadmap ahead, but today we do have a platform ready to deliver assistance.”
Key features:
- Upgraded UX and standardised workflows
- New workbooks to organise tasks & studies
- LLM consistency checks for higher accuracy
- Enhanced engineering pre-processing
- 10-plus EVA assistants
- Upload and run private models
- Engineering artefact creation and browser
- Builder to create & deploy assistants for your team
- In-line citations, note-taking, source tracking and more
The release builds on Better Futures’ recent win in ABB’s startup challenge back in April. The victory secured a six-month partnership with ABB to deploy EVA 2.0 with Fortune 500 company.
“It is fantastic what ABB does — every Fortune 500 company should do this. We won their competition and now we have a global contract with them to deploy our platform. It is really cool, because it our first Fortune 500,” he said.
Better Futures has also been dependent on its partner network to help boost early adoption, explained Mc Loughlin. Partners include: UK-based Lifecycle Engineering, Oliko Aerospace in Germany and Axiom Systems in the US.
“One of the big learning effects I’ve had as a founder is that I didn’t realise that our partners would be so key so early. Without them we would not be where we are today.
“With 2.0, EVA has evolved into a vertical AI platform — built to rapidly deploy trusted engineering assistants across the enterprise, with accuracy and control at the core,” he concluded,” added Mc Loughlin.
