Lee Human

Lee Human has built a career helping aerospace companies bring their products to market. He founded AeroTEC in 2003 with just three employees, providing flight test services to STC companies like Aviation Partners Boeing. The company quickly grew and expanded its capabilities to include certification and engineering services. Lee knew that with this added capability, AeroTEC was perfectly positioned to fill a gap in the industry that few others could. He envisioned AeroTEC as the premiere industry partner for new aircraft development – providing everything from initial requirements to aircraft type certification.

In 2011, AeroTEC won a contract with Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation of America to test and certify the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (now the SpaceJet), which aided in the company’s rapid growth and facilities expansion in Seattle, WA and in Moses Lake, WA. AeroTEC’s Flight Test Center (AFTC) in Moses Lake now boasts 100,000 square feet of hangar space in addition to engineering offices, manufacturing facilities and an MRO – all designed to support customer test programs.

Lee’s forward thinking has also led AeroTEC to focus on the product development and certification of emerging aerospace technologies, supporting customers who are developing electric, supersonic and eVTOL aircraft. In 2019 alone, AeroTEC partnered with two electric aviation startups – Eviation and magniX – and two supersonic jet manufacturers to develop, test and certify their technologies, all while growing and diversifying AeroTEC’s classic business. In October of 2019, AeroTEC announced the company had been selected to convert a 747-400 into a flying testbed for Rolls-Royce.

Prior to starting AeroTEC in 2003, Lee was the flight test manager at Aviation Partners Boeing, a joint venture with the Boeing Company. Lee is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst College of Engineering. He has earned credentials as an FAA DER, as well a private multi-engine instrument pilot’s license. In his free time, Lee enjoys boating the waters of Puget Sound with family and friends.
