Avolon orders 500 aircraft from Vertical Aerospace

The Irish aircraft leasing company announced a $2bn order for up to 500 Vertical Aerospace VA-X4 eVTOLs. Deliveries expected in 2024.

Vertical to go public in SPAC merger

It will merge with blank-check company Broadstone Acquisition Corp. with an equity value of $2.2bn. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2021.

Honeywell partners and invests in Lilium

Honeywell is the latest technical and investment partner for eVTOL developer Lilium’s seven-seater Lilium Jet.

Helisul orders 50 eVTOLs from Eve

Brazilian helicopter operator Helisul Aviation has ordered for up to 50 of the four-passenger eVTOLs. The first of the new aircraft are due to be delivered in 2026.

Joby shares certification timelines

It hopes to get its FAA Part-135 air certificate by mid-2022 and launch commercial rideshare service by 2024. By 2026, Joby expects to have a fleet of 850 aircraft.
