French OEM, Aura Aero has announced the signing of over 130 letters of intent (LoI) with a nine airlines for orders of its 19-seat Electric Regional Aircraft (ERA). The LoIs were signed in Paris on Airline Day in late September.

The event, held at Aéroclub de France, brought together airlines in order to present ERA and to discuss the aircraft’s development. Aura’s technical teams will take into account the airline’s recommendations when developing ERA, due to enter into service in 2027.

Jérémy Caussade, co-founder and president, Aura Aero, said: “We are happy and proud to announce these new orders for ERA, an aircraft that will enable, thanks to modern and digital technology, to transport passengers and freight in total safety, with an extremely low emission rate and an unbeatable business plan. We are convinced, more than ever, of the relevance of this aircraft in the implementation of a decarbonised aviation.”

Nine airlines have signed LoIs for the three versions of ERA: passenger, cargo and VIP. Afrijet based in Gabon has ordered 10 aircraft. Malta-based Elitavia has ordered 20 aircraft. DUX, a Brazilian carrier has also ordered 20 aircraft. French airline, Flying Green and Switzerland-based FMS have both ordered 10 aircraft each. Also, France-based Twinjet have ordered 25 aircraft.

Three airlines are to be announced shortly, according to Aura. The ERA programme currently stands at over 330 order intentions.
