Lilium names Johan Malmqvist as chief financial officer

German eVTOL developer Lilium has appointed Johan Malmqvist as chief financial officer (CFO).

Malmqvist  has more than 25 years’ experience in CFO roles across a number of companies including Polestar, the electric vehicle joint venture launched by Volvo and China’s Geely Group. There he played a key role in navigating Polestar through its US public listing. 

“I am privileged to join Lilium at this paramount time in its corporate journey,” said Malmqvist (pictured below). “As the company advances from design to industrialisation, Lilium is poised to revolutionise regional air travel. I look forward to collaborating with the team to help further articulate Lilium’s distinct story while together we pioneer a more sustainable means of travel.”

Prior to Polestar, Malmqvist served over seven years as CFO at Dole Food Company. During his tenure with Dole, Johan played helped oversee the firm’s successful merger with Total Produce and its reemergence as a public company.

Malmqvist succeeds Oliver Vogelgesang, who has been with Lilium since 2021 when he joined as SVP Finance & Controlling.
