Loganair to integrate Heart Aerospace aircraft into network

UK-based regional airline Loganair has partnered with Heart Aerospace to find use cases for the Swedish developer’s aircraft in the carrier’s route network. 

Loganair, headquartered at Glasgow Airport, primarily operates domestic flights within the UK where it is the largest regional airline by passenger numbers and fleet size. The firm’s will look to see where Heart’s ES-30, a hybrid-electric aircraft with capacity for up to 30 passengers, is suited to supplementing today’s fleet operations.

“Loganair has been a champion of regional aviation for decades, and we’re thrilled to partner with them to bring cleaner air travel to the UK,” said Simon Newitt, President & chief commercial officer of Heart Aerospace. “This collaboration is an important step in our mission to make air travel more sustainable and we look forward to bringing clean and convenient solutions to Loganair in support of its ambitious goal to achieve net zero emissions across its operations by 2040.”  

Heart and Loganair will also engage with the Scottish and UK Governments and airports as part of the agreement. Additionally, Loganair will join Heart’s industry advisory board.

Heart Aerospace has a total of 250 firm orders for the ES-30, with options and purchase rights for an additional 120 aircraft. The company also has letters of intent for a further 191 units.
