Brazilian regulator publishes Eve’s final airworthiness criteria
The National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC) has published its final version of the airworthiness criteria for Eve Air Mobility’s eVTOL aircraft.
Following a period of public consultation, the final criteria has been delivered and will likely push the entry into service of Eve’s aircraft back one year to 2027.
Luiz Valentini, chief technology officer of Eve, said: “The publication of the final airworthiness criteria marks an important step towards the certification of our eVTOL. The feedback received during the public consultation phase was invaluable in refining these criteria. We are now looking forward to continue working closely with ANAC on type certification [TC] and the FAA on the simultaneous validation of the ANAC TC.”
Eve formally began the process for obtaining a type certificate for its eVTOL with the Brazilian regulator in February 2022. The eVTOL certification process aligns with procedures for obtaining a “special class category” aircraft type Ccrtificate, adhering to airworthiness requirements outlined in the existing Brazilian Civil Aviation Regulations and other stipulated criteria.
The company said it now will focus on defining the means of compliance applicable to the aircraft with ANAC.
