H55 has completed a maiden flight of its second BRM Aero Bristell Energic electric trainer prototype.

BRM, a Czech aircraft manufacturer, is H55’s first customer for its EPS 100 kW application, the OEM will integrate the EPS into its two-seat Bristell electric trainer designed for flight schools and pilot training. Produced in response to market demand for a 850KG CS 23 certified aircraft which can take a pilot through most of the PPL training syllabus, the B23 Energic will enter commercial service in 2024.

André Borschberg, founder, H55, said: “Another big milestone from H55, the first test flight of our new BRM prototype. You can discover the technologies we have integrated into this airplane at our booth at AERO Friedrichshafen 2023.”

In a statement on LinkedIn H55 said the prototype is “flying with the latest state of the art propulsion, battery, and energy management technology.”

“With this new milestone, we are getting closer to our type certification with the delivery of an experimental aircraft permit to fly, and the certification plan and associated means of compliance having been reviewed by EASA.”

H55 will be displaying their technology in the e-flight expo hall Stand A7-310 at AERO Friedrichshafen 2023.
