AutoFlight and Wuhan Hanyang agree deal for 12 aircraft

Chinese eVTOL developer AutoFlight has secured an order from Wuhan Hanyang Investment Development Group for 12 aircraft worth $21.4m (157m yuan).
The deposit-backed order announced on February 11th includes cargo aircraft, emergency firefighting aircraft, and five-seat passenger-carrying aircraft. AutoFlight is undergoing airworthiness certification for its five-seat eVTOL known as V2000EM Prosperity with the Chinese regulator. Commercial operations are expected to begin in 2026.
The deal will also see the duo run pilot projects with the aircraft to assess the viability of launching commercial air passenger transport.
AutoFlight and Wuhan’s Hanyang district also intend to build a final assembly base and sales centre for central China in the region. This would enable flight trials, aircraft assembly and deliveries among other benefits.
An urban area near the centre of Wuhan city, Hanyang district, as part of China’s wider blueprint for a low-altitude economy, has plans to establish a demonstration centre to develop unmanned applications in logistics, firefighting and emergency response.
The centre is also set to trial passenger-carrying operations using an approved aerial travel route along the Yangtze River’s north bank.
